Hello June!

Hawaii’s hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th. Are you ready?

• Make a plan: Know the evacuation routes, where you’ll go if advised, and how you’ll check updates (radio, alerts, official channels)

• Power readiness: Keep flashlights/headlamps, batteries, a power bank, and at least come non-perishable food on hand. If you use a generator, follow the manufacturer instructions exactly and never run it indoors/inside a garage.

• Secure your property: Bring loose items indoors or anchor them (patio furniture, grills, tools, toys, planters, trash bins).

• Use official local alerts: Check HI-EMA and the National Weather Service (NWS Honolulu) for updates. Turn on wireless emergency alerts if available on your phone.

• Fuel and supplies early (not last minute): Fill up and restock water/food when a threat is still manageable – last minute runs can become difficult.

Team Kahalehili

The 2026 recipient of the Rogan and Frelynn Kahalehili scholarship is Kris Corrales. As a student at Campbell HS, Kris founded the Sabers for Animals club and provided over 1,000 community service hours. Kris will be heading to the East Coast to attend college.
